Complete casting has now been revealed for Michael Grandage's upcoming West End production of Martin McDonagh's The Lieutenant of Inishmore. Joining "Poldark" star Aidan Turner (making his West End debut as Padraic) in the all Irish cast will be Denis Conway (as Donny), Will Irvine (as Christy), Brian Martin (as James), Daryl McCormack (as Brendan) Julian Moore-Cook (as Joey), Charlie Murphy (as Mairead), and Chris Walley (as Davey).

McDonagh's play premiered at the RSC in Stratford-Upon-Avon in 2001, and tells the story of Padraic, a member of IRA splinter group INLA. However, his extreme techniques (which include slicing the nipples of a drug peddler) prove too much even for a terrorist organisation.

The new production is set to run at the Noel Coward Theatre form 23rd June to 8th September 2018.

While Aidan Turner will be making his West End debut in the play, it won't be the first time he's appeared on the London stage. He played Corp. Stoddard in a production of Sean O'Casey's The Plough and the Stars in the Barbican in 2005, and has performed in many theatre productions across Ireland. He is best known for playing the title character in BBC series "Poldark", and Kíli in "The Hobbit" film trilogy.

Grandage's production will have set and costume designs by Christopher Oram, lighting by Neil Austin, and sound and music by Adam Cork.

It has also been announced that Grandage will direct a production of the John Logan play Red at Wyndham's Theatre, due to open in May starring Alfred Molina and Alfred Enoch.

The Lieutenant of Inishmore will run at the Noel Coward Theatre form 23rd June.
