CLIVE ROWE RE-JOINS CAST OF CHICAGO

Clive Rowe will re-join the cast of Chicago, at the Adelphi Theatre from 21st Jan 02 for 6 months. He will play the role of 'Amos Hart' until 20th July 02. (Paul Rider, who currently stars in the role will leave on 19th Jan 02 at the end of his contract). Rowe last played the part of 'Amos Hart" at the Adelphi early last year 2001.

Clive Rowe has starred in many London musicals including "Carmen Jones" at the Old Vic, "Carousel", "Guys and Dolls" and "Candide" at the Royal National Theatre and "Company" at the Donmar Warehouse. His work for The Royal Shakespeare Company includes roles in "Twelfth Night" and "Measure for Measure". He also had his own show at the Donmar Warehouse as part of the 'Donmar Divas' season.

The cast of Chicago, continues to feature Claire Sweeney as 'Roxie Hart', Leigh Zimmerman as 'Velma Kelly', Neil McCaul as 'Billy Flynn' and Alison Moyet as 'Mama Morton'.

The london production of Chicago, opened in November 1997 to great notices from the popular press. It went on to win the 1998 Laurence Olivier Award for 'Outstanding Musical Production' as well as the 1998 Critics Circle Drama Award for 'Best Musical'.

Directed by Walter Bobbie, it is based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins and has a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. Scenic design is by John Lee Beatty, costumes by William Ivey Long and lighting by Ken Billington. It is choreographed by Ann Reinking in the style of Bob Fosse.

Chicago is currently taking bookings to 28th September 2002.
