Dirty Rotten Scoundrels extends booking to 07 Mar 2015

The UK premiere of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, a musical stage adaptation of the movie, with music and lyrics by David Yazbek and book by Jeffrey Lane, has extended its booking period at the Savoy Theatre to 07 Mar 2015. It was originally booking through to 29 November 2014.

The current cast includes Robert Lindsay (Lawrence Jameson), Rufus Hound (Freddy Benson), Katherine Kingsley (Christine Colgate), Samantha Bond (Muriel Eubanks), John Marquez (Andre Thibault), Lizzy Connolly (Jolene), with Gavin Alex, Darren Bennett, Niamh Bracken, Lisa Bridge, Darren Carnall, Andy Conaghan, Lizzy Connolly, Phoebe Coupe, Claire Doyle, Alice Fearn, Selina Hamilton, Ian Knauer, Lisa Mathieson, Zak Nemorin, Genevieve Nicole, Javier Santos, Todd Talbot, Dominic Tribuzio, Jon Tsouras, and Zara Warren.

The musical is directed by Jerry Mitchell, produced by Ambassador Theatre Group, Jerry Mitchell Productions and Tulchin/Bartner Productions, with set and costume design by Peter McKintosh.

Synopsis: 'Set on the French Riviera where the decadent world of sophisticated conman Lawrence Jameson comes crashing down with the arrival of larger-than-life Freddy Benson - a completely different type of conman. The two find themselves going head to head in the con of their lives, pulling out all of the stops in a bid for the affections Christine Colgate, a millionaire soap heiress.'

Robert Lindsay is best known for his comedic performance in 'My Family', which ran for nine series for BBC 1. On stage his performance in 'Me And My Girl' won an Olivier and Tony Award. Robert's other stage credits include 'The Lion In Winter' at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, 'The Entertainer' and 'Trelawny Of The Wells', both at the Old Vic, 'Power' at the National Theatre, 'Richard III' at the Savoy Theatre, 'Oliver!' at the London Palladium, and 'Cyrano De Bergerac' at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.

Rufus Hound is best known as a comedian, TV and radio personality and performer. Rufus' theatre credits include the National Theatre's 'One Man, Two Guvnors' at the Theatre Royal Haymarket/UK Tour.

Katherine Kingsley's last musical theatre role was in 'Singin' In The Rain' at Chichester Festival Theatre / Palace Theatre. Her other theatre credits include 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' at the Noel Coward Theatre.

Samantha Bond is widely known for her film role as Miss Moneypenny, opposite Pierce Brosnan in the 007 movies 'Goldeneye', 'Tomorrow Never Dies', 'The World Is Not Enough', and 'Die Another Day', as well as her recurring TV role as Lady Rosamund Painswick in ITV's 'Downton Abbey'. Her theatrical credits include 'An Ideal Husband' (Vaudeville Theatre), 'Arcadia' (Duke of York's Theatre), 'Donkey's Years' (Comedy Theatre) and 'Amy's View' at the National Theatre.

John Marquez is perhaps best known for his role as PC Penhale on TV's 'Doc Martin'. His stage credits include 'Privates on Parade' (Noel Coward Theatre), 'Ding Dong The Wicked' (Royal Court), 'Ragtime' (Regent's Park Open Air Theatre), 'A Flea in Her Ear' (Old Vic), 'Annie Get Your Gun' (Young Vic), 'The Good Soul of Szechuan' (Young Vic), 'The Emperor Jones' (National Theatre), 'Market Boy' (National Theatre), 'The Anniversary' (Garrick Theatre), 'Mother Teresa is Dead' (Royal Court), and 'Sing Yer Heart Out For The Lads' (National Theatre).
