It’s been confirmed that a new bio-musical about the rise to fame of the Bee Gees is in the works, and could be eyeing a place in the West End.
Universal Theatrical Group is the team behind...
Discotivity a disco version of the nativity story, which was to due to open at the Arts Theatre in December 2007, starring 2003 'Pop Idol' winner Michelle McManus has been cancelled!
Producer Kevin Wilson said: "Discotivity had great reviews in Edinburgh and great audience feedback. The version in Edinburgh only ran 42 minutes and so we always planned to expand on it for a future life. Unfortunately, I wasn't confident that we could get it ready for the full-blown West End production at the Arts as planned in just 12 weeks from the end of the Festival. We are now planning a 2008 Autumn tour and London Christmas season. I sincerely hope Michelle McManus will still be able to head the cast - she was an inspired choice to play the virgin Mary and the critical reaction and audience response bore that out."
