Shakespeare's Globe has today announced full casting for Jonathan Munby's production of Antony & Cleopatra which runs at the outdoor venue on London's South Bank from 17 May to 24 Aug 2014.

Joining the previously announced Eve Best as Cleopatra, is Clive Wood as Marc Antony, Jolyon Coy as Octavius Caesar, Phil Daniels as Enobarbus and Sirine Saba as Charmian.

'Antony & Cleopatra' is one of Shakespeare's most regularly performed tragedies, and explores "what happens when the unstoppable force of sexual desire meets the immovable object of imperial power." Sweeping from the exotic Alexandria to Imperial Rome, the scale and scope of the production is matched by some of the most famous characters in literature, exemplifying one of the most desperate yet doomed love stories of all time.

Eve Best is an Olivier Award winning actress, and two time Tony Award nominee. She made her directorial debut at The Globe in 2013 with 'Macbeth' and starred as Beatrice in 'Much Ado About Nothing' at the venue in 2011. She recently starred in 'The Duchess of Malfi' at the The Old Vic Theatre, and was seen on screen as Wallis Simpson in the Oscar Winning 'The King's Speech'.

Clive Wood has performed internationally with the RSC, and was last seen in the West End in Trevor Nunn's productions of 'Flare Path' and 'The Tempest' at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.

This new production is directed by Jonathan Munby and features designs by Colin Richmond and original music by Jules Maxwell. The full cast includes Ignatius Anthony, Peter Bankolé, Jonathan Bonnici, Philip Correia, Kammy Darweish, Paul Hamilton, James Hayes, Rosie Hilal, Daniel Rabin and Obioma Ugoala.
