A free production of The Odyssey comes to London this summer at The Scoop amphitheatre next to Tower Bridge, running from 9 August to 3 September 2017 with a official opening on 18 August.

Described as a three part open-air theatre experience this re-imagining of one of the world's great epics is adapted from Homer's epic Greek story by Phil Willmott. It is produced by Gods and Monsters Theatre in association with Iris Theatre.

"Filled with monstrous creatures and battles of the high sea, each part will be a story within itself, and can be enjoyed individually, or alternatively audiences can experience the whole of Odyessus journey across a fantastical three-hour show."

Staged as part of the London Bridge City Summer Festival, The Odyssey is a completely free event for all ages from on Wednesday - Sunday evenings. Part One: A GREAT BIG ANCIENT GREEK ADVENTURE begins at 6.00pm, followed by Part Two: THE POWER OF LOVE at 7.30pm and Part Three: THE HOMECOMING at 9.00pm.

Audiences don't need to book for any of the performances, and with 1000 seats available for each night there's plenty of chances to catch one or all three of the shows throughout the run.

The production features music by Theo Holloway, set design by Philip Eddolls, costume design by Penn O'Gara, lighting design by Phil Supple and puppet design by Jonny Dixon. Casting is to be announced.

The Scoop at London Bridge City is situated between London Bridge and Tower Bridge next to City Hall.
