Full cast announced for The New Tomorrow at the Young Vic

The Young Vic's artistic director Kwame Kwei-Armah has announced the cast for The New Tomorrow. The upcoming weekend of performances will mark the first live performances at the off-West End venue in over six months, in celebration of the Young Vic's 50th birthday.

The New Tomorrow will be live streamed from 3-4 October at 4pm on the Young Vic's Facebook page.

Paapa Esseidu will star in The New Tomorrow, best known for his televised performance as Kwame in Michaela Coel's I Will Destroy You. On stage, he's appeared in the Pinter at the Pinter season and Pass Over at the Kiln Theatre.

The cast is completed by Ronkẹ Adékọluẹ́jọ́, Adjoa Andoh, Matthew Dunster, Martina Laird, Anoushka Lucas and Sophie Stone.

The company will perform short works from writers including Jack Thorne, who wrote the stage play of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Palace Theatre. There'll also be new writing by Jade Anouka, Marina Carr, Jasmine Lee-Jones, Ruth Madeley, Amy Ng, Stef Smith, Isobel Waller-Bridge and Steve Waters.

The performance will be hosted by Kwame Kwei-Armah, and also feature speeches from activists Shahidha Bari and Tom Gill, with Kwame Kwei-Armah Jr. as DJ.
