Full casting announced for West End transfer of The Inheritance
Stephen Daldry's production of Matthew Lopez's epic play transfers from the Young Vic next month
As the Young Vic's West End transfer of The Inheritance begins rehearsals, the full cast of Matthew Lopez's epic two-parter has been announced.
The majority of the cast from the Young Vic production, which opened in March, will return to the West End production at the Noel Coward Theatre with the exception of Luke Thallon (who is appearing in Mike Bartlett's Cock in Chichester from September). Jack Riddiford joins the cast.
Directed by Stephen Daldry, the full cast of The Inheritance includes: Hugo Bolton, Robert Boulter, Andrew Burnap, Hubert Burton, John Benjamin Hickey, Paul Hilton, Samuel H. Levine, Syrus Lowe, Michael Marcus, Kyle Soller, Michael Walters, and Vanessa Redgrave who makes an appearance in the second part of the play.
In a rave five-star review of the play when it first opened, Mark Shenton said Lopez's play - which is inspired by EM Forster's novel Howard's End, is 'like a softer, gentler, sadder version of Angels in America; less driven by fury and theatrics, but with even more heart and aching tenderness'.
The production begins previews at the Noel Coward Theatre on 21st September, with opening performances on 13th October. It will run until 19th January 2019.
Designed by Bob Crowley, the play has lighting by Jon Clark, sound by Paul Arditti and Christopher Reid, and music by Paul Englishby.
The Inheritance is at the Noel Coward Theatre from 21st September.
The Inheritance tickets are available now.
