Further casting has been named for the upcoming production of Sweet Charity at the Donmar Warehouse.

Set in New York in 1967, the musical follows Charity Hope Valentine, a young performer working in a dance hall whose optimism spurs her to search for a better life. Meeting Oscar, a tax accountant in New York, Charity puts her faith in love in a musical that features show tunes including "If My Friends Could See Me Now" and "Big Spender".

Stephen Kennedy joins the previously announced cast members Anne-Marie Duff as Charity and Arthur Darvill as Oscar to play Herman, Charity's boss. Kennedy starred in The Vote at the Donmar Warehouse, which was performed during the final ninety minutes of polling, live and in real time with the 2015 election, alongside Mark Gatiss and Catherine Tate.

Debbie Kurup will play Helene, with previous theatre credits in The Girl from the North Country, The Bodyguard and Chicago. Danielle Steers will play Carmen, recently starring as Zahara in Bat Out of Hell at the Dominion Theatre, alongside Martin Marquez as Vittorio Vidal and Amy Ellen Richardson as Ursula March.

Lizzy Connolly, Lauren Drew, Jo Eaton-Kent, Will Haswell, Charlotte Jaconelli, Ryan Reid, and Shaq Taylor also join the cast.

Sweet Charity will be directed by Josie Rourke, and feature choreography by Wayne McGregor, who worked with Rourke for the film Mary Queen of Scots in 2018. This will be the final production directed by Rourke as the current artistic director at the Donmar Warehouse, with Michael Longhurst taking over the role later in the year.

Sweet Charity is at the Donmar Warehouse from 6th April.
