Ghost The Musical confirmed at Piccadilly 22 June 2011

Ghost the Musical, is now confirmed to open at the West End's Piccadilly Theatre 19 July 2011, following previews from 22 June - booking to 28 Jan 2012.

As prevously announced the show will open at Opera House, Manchester, in north England (28 March - 14 May 2011), prior to its run in London at the Piccadilly Theatre.

Casting to be announced shortly, however Baz from the Daily Mail says Sharon D. Clarke, will play Oda Mae Brown, the bogus medium (the role Whoopi Goldberg), however this is still to be officially confirmed.

Ghost the Musical has music and lyrics by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard. Bruce Joel Rubin will adapt his original screen play for the stage and write lyrics.

It is directed by Matthew Warchus, designed by Rob Howell, musical supervision and arrangements by Christopher Nightingale, illusions are by Paul Kieve, with lighting by Hugh Vanstone, choreography by Ashley Wallen, and sound by Simon Baker.

Sam is trapped as a ghost between this world and the next trying to communicate with his girlfriend Molly through a phoney psychic in the hope of saving her from his murderer. Ghost, based on the Paramount pictures film, will feature new music and lyrics as well as the classic Unchained Melody.
