Green Day's American Idiot starring Amelia Lily returns to the Arts

The Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical Green Day's American Idiot will return to the Arts Theatre this Summer, running from 8 July to 25 September 2016.

X-Factor Finalist Amelia Lily will continue in the role of 'Whatshername', alongside Newton Faulkner as 'Johnny', Cellen Chugg Jones (Theo), Jemma Geanaus (Alysha), Alexis Gerred (Tunny), Llandyll Gove (Gerard), Karina Hind (Libby), Emma Housley (Heather), Lawrence Libor (Swing), Lucas Rush (St Jimmy), Steve Rushton (Will) and Alice Stokoe (Extraordinary Girl).

Green Day's American Idiot features music by Green Day, lyrics by Billie Joe Armstrong, and a book by Billie Joe Armstrong. The production is directed and choreographed by Racky Plews.

The musical is the story of three boyhood friends, each searching for meaning in a post 9-11 world. Its hit songs include 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams,' '21 Guns,' 'Wake Me Up When September Ends,' 'Holiday' and the title track 'American Idiot' from Green Day's 2004 Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum album.

The creative team features scenic design by Sara Perks, sound design by Chris Whybrow, and lighting design by Tim Deiling. The show is produced by David Hutchinson and Philip Rowntree for Sell A Door Theatre Company.

Tickets will go on general sale on 13 April 2016.
