PK Productions in association with Jermyn Street Theatre present Halbwelt Kultur, a new musical cabaret directed by Patrick Kennedy, at the Jermyn Street Theatre, a 70-seat Off West End venue in Piccadilly, from 26 Nov to 15 Dec 2013.
Featuring a live band, the production recreates and pays homage to seven 'highly influential' women from the scandalous Weimar Republic and is set against the backdrop of the rise of World War II. It narrates stories of these women, who were actresses, singers, writers and revolutionaries, and stitches monologue together with cabaret songs.
Based on an original idea by Patrick Kennedy and Stephanie Hampton with additional writing by Finn D'Albert. With music by Hanns Eisler, Mischa Spoliansky, Friedrich Hollaender and Kurt Weill and others.
