"HUMBLE BOY" NEW CAST IN JUNE 02

It is reported that a new cast will take over in Charlotte Jones' Humble Boy, at the Gielgud Theatre from 7th June 02

Maria Aitken will take over from Felicity Kendal and Adrian Scarborough takes over from Simon Russell Beale.

William Gaunt , currently playing 'Jim', will change role to take over as 'George' from Denis Quilley.

The new cast will also feature Anna Calder-Marshall, Sophie Duval and Peter Blythe.

The West End credits of Maria Aitken, who is the sister of Jonathan Aitken, the disgraced MP who was sent to prison, includes " Sylvia" at the Apollo Theatre in 1996.

Adrian Scarborough's London credits include "The Day I Stood Still " at the National in 1998, "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead" at the National in 1995; "Vassa" at the Albery in 1999; and "To the Green Fields Beyond " at the Donmar Warehouse in 2000.

Directed by John Caird, this is a comedy about broken vows, failed hopes and the joys of beekeeping. All is not well in the Humble hive. 35 year old Felix Humble is a Cambridge astro-physicist in search of a unified field theory. Following the sudden death of his father, he returns to his middle England and his difficult and demanding mother, where he soon realises that his search for unity must include his own chaotic home life.

(Note, the last performance of the current cast will be on 1st June. There will be no performances from 3rd to 6th June)
