Mary Stuart by Friedrich Schiller in a new version by Peter Oswald, is directed by Phyllida Lloyd, designed by Anthony Ward, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Paul Arditti.

The play is an account of the extraordinary relationship between England's Elizabeth I and Mary, Queen of Scots.

Janet McTeer's London stage credits include "A Doll's House" at the Playhouse in 1996; "The Duchess of Malfi" at the National Theatre in 2003 and "Taming of the Shrew" at Shakespeare's Globe also in 2003.

Harriet Walter's many London stage credits include "Dinner" at the National Theatre in 2002 and Wyndham's in 2003; "Much Ado About Nothing" at the Haymarket in 2002; "Life x 3" at the National Theatre in 2000 and Old Vic in 2001; "The Royal Family" at the Haymarket in 2001; "Macbeth" at the Young Vic in 2000; "Old Times" at the Wyndham's in 1995; "The Children's Hour" at the National Theatre in 1994
