"Jus' Like That!" Tommy Cooper comedy extends to 6 Sep 03 at Garrick

Jus' Like That! , with Jerome Flynn as Tommy Cooper, has been extended by 3 months to 6 Sep 03 at the Garrick Theatre

The show opened last month to good notices from the popular press: THE DAILY TELEGRAPH says, "This is a genuinely affectionate and enjoyable show that does something approaching justice to an irreplaceable comic genius." THE TIMES says, "Whatever the cavils and caveats, Flynn is a mimic to relish." THE GUARDIAN says, "Jerome Flynn here does an astonishing job of recreating Tommy Cooper." SHERIDAN MORLEY for TELETEXT says, "His [Flynn] impersonation of Tommy Cooper is little short of brilliant."

It is created and written by John Fisher, directed by Simon Callow, with design by Christopher Woods and lighting by Nick Richings. Choreography by Craig Revel Horwood and magic by Geoffrey Durham. It has original music by Paul Bateman.

One of the nation's most beloved natural clowns is brought vividly to live in this show. All the familiar trademarks are here - the fez, the laugh, the 'hats' routine, the bottle and the glass - just like that. But the play also offers an insight into the more private man providing a behind the scenes insight in to the working life of the manic magician. The play is set on the night Tommy Cooper died on stage at Her Majesty's Theatre in 1984 of a heart attack.
