Kafka's Monkey with Kathryn Hunter at Young Vic 19 May

Kafka's Monkey, with Kathryn Hunter, returns to the Young Vic Maria Studio, opening 24 May 2011, following previews from 19 May - running to 11 June 2011. ( The show had a run at the Young Vic in 2009).

It is based on A Report To an Academy by Franz Kafka, adaptation by Colin Teevan. Directed by Walter Meierjohann, designed by Steffi Wurster, costumes by Richard Hudson, sound by Nikola Kodjabashia.

Imprisoned in a cage, desperate to escape, the ape-man reveals his rise through the ranks of the beasts to become a walking, talking, spitting, smoking, hard-drinking man of the stage.
