King Lear at Old Vic - further cast announced

The Old Vic Theatre have announced further cast for Shakespeare's classic King Lear, which will run at their Southbank venue from 25 October to 3 December 2016, with an official opening on 4 Novemver 2016.

The production see will double Academy Award-winner Glenda Jackson return to the stage a quarter of a century after she gave up acting for politics.

Joining the previously announced Glenda Jackson (King Lear), Jane Horrocks (Regan), Rhys Ifans (Fool), Simon Manyonda (Edmond) and Harry Melling (Edgar), will be Celia Imrie (Goneril), Morfydd Clark (Cordelia) and William Chubb (Albany).

Synopsis: "King Lear has ruled for many years. As old age takes over ..." This play has been described as Shakespeare's greatest tragedy.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public from noon on Tuesday 31 May 2016.
