The West End production of Kinky Boots has set the date for its final performance in the West End, as it bows out of the Adelphi Theatre after four years.

The musical, which has music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper, will play its final show on Saturday 12th January 2019 - incidentally the same night Dreamgirls will close at the nearby Savoy Theatre. Kinky Boots will have played over 1,400 performances when it closes in the West End.

Kinky Boots starred Killian Donnelly and Matt Henry when it first opened in London, with Henry going on to win an Olivier Award for playing drag queen Lola, who forms a partnership with shoe factory owner Charlie to create a line of high-heel boot for the drag industry.

Currently, the show stars Simon-Anthony Rhoden as Lola, Oliver Tompsett as Charlie and Natalie McQueen as Lauren.

Kinky Boots premiered on Broadway in 2013, and won the Tony Award for Best Musical. Since then, it has seen many celebrities star in the production, including Billy Porter, Brendon Urie, Jake Shears and Wayne Brady.

Last week, we asked Lauper a few questions about the show, including why it is so many people's favourite musical, and if there was anyone in particular she'd like to see star in the show. You can watch her interview below.

Kinky Boots is at the Adelphi Theatre until 19th January 2019.

Kinky Boots tickets are available now.
