"KISS ME KATE" NOW BOOKING TO MARCH 2003

Kiss Me Kate , has posted closing notices at the Victoria Palace Theatre . The last performance will be on 24th Aug 02, when it is then expected to go on a national tour. (the show was originally booking to 1st Mar 03)

The show, which has music & Lyrics by Cole Porter, book by Sam & Bella Spewack, opened at the Victoria Palace theatre on 30th Oct last year, to great notices from the popular press: BENEDICT NIGHTINGALE for THE TIMES says, "Kiss Me, Kate is packed with super songs" CHARLES SPENCER for THE DAILY TELEGRAPH says, "It is a dazzling evening of inventive, infectious pleasure." NICHOLAS DE JONGH for THE EVENING STANDARD says, "A dazzling night." SHERIDAN MORLEY for TELEXT says, "One of the greatest revivals I have ever seen. Gotta sing, gotta dance, gotta see it!"

The cast includes Rachel York as (Lilli Vanessi/Katherine), Brent Barrett (Fred Graham/Petruchio), Michael Berresse (Bill Calhoun/Lucentio) and Nancy Anderson (Lois Lane/Bianca).

This musical comedy concerns two gangsters who are despatched to extract a debt from the leading man of a musical version of 'The Taming of the Shrew'. They arrive on its First Night, in the middle of a blazing row between the show's stars and end up on stage singing 'Brush Up Your Shakespeare'.
