Lazarus Theatre Company have announced two new productions as part of their Rebellion and Revolution season.

The first production is Euripides' The Bacchae which will run at the Blue Elephant Theatre in Camberwell from 19 April to 7 May 2016, with an official opening on 21 April 2016.

Directed by Gavin Harrington-Odedra, the drama follows a wanderer who returns, driving the people of the city into a ferocious and liberating sexual frenzy. His actions excite, his message thrills, but his mission is revenge.

This will be followed by a new production of John Ford's Tis Pity She's a Whore which will run at the Tristan Bates Theatre in central London from 23 August to 10 September 2016, with an official opening on 25 August 2016.

"Ferocious, murderous and bloody. Love will not conquer all. Love will destroy all. John Ford's Jacobian masterpiece follows two young lovers, Anabella and Giovani, caught in the grip of sexual adventure and discovery. But their love is damned and their sex is a sin; they are Brother and Sister. When the siblings' love is discovered their world is changed forever."

Tickets for both productions are now on sale.
