Les Miserables now booking to 27 Sep 2008 - Plus major cast changes from 25 June 2007

Les Miserables announces a new 9 month booking period covering performances from 17 Dec 2007 to 27 Sep 2008 at the Queens Theatre

There are also major cast changes from 25th June 2007: Gary Watson (Marius), Edward Baruwa (Enjolras), Melanie La Barrie (Madame Thenardier), Cassandra Compton (Eponine), Claire-Marie Hall (Cosette).

The show will continue to star John Owen-Jones (Jean Valjean), Hans Peter Janssens (Javert), Joanna Ampil (Fantine), Chris Vincent (Thenardier).

Gary Watson has recently been in the Adelphi Theatre production of Evita; Edward Baruwa has recently been in Porgy & Bess at the Savoy Theatre and Dancing in the Streets and Jerry Springer the Opera; Melanie La Barrie was the original 'Mrs Corry' in Mary Poppins and 'Pearl' in Daddy Cool; Cassandra Compton's London stage credits include Whistle Down the Wind at the Aldwych and was runner-up in the X-Factor in 2004; Claire-Marie Hall is making her West End debut.

After 18 years and over 7500 performances, the show had its final performance at the Palace Theatre on Sat 27 March 2004. The show then moved to the Queen's theatre from 3 April 2004. In October 2006 Les Miserables become the longest-running musical ever in the West End .

Les Miserables, which concerns Love and bravery in 19th century France during the revolutionary struggles, is written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg, based on the novel by Victor Hugo. It has lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and music by Claude-Michel Schonberg, with original text by Alain Boublil and additional material by James Fenton. It is adapted and directed by Trevor Nunn and John Caird.

Les Miserables has been seen by over 54 million people worldwide in 38 countries and in 21 languages. There have been 33 cast recordings of "Les Miserables", including the multi-platinum London cast recording and the Grammy Award-winning Broadway cast and complete symphonic albums. The video of the 10th Anniversary Royal Albert Hall Gala Concert has sold well over one million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling musical videos in the UK.
