Lydia Wilson to star in The Duchess of Malfi at the Almeida Theatre

Rebecca Frecknall is set to direct a new production of John Webster's play The Duchess of Malfi, which will star Lydia Wilson at the Almeida Theatre in December.

Frecknall, whose recent production of Summer and Smoke at the theatre enjoyed a West End transfer, will direct the play which runs from 2nd December to 18th January 2020, with a press night on 10th December.

Lydia Wilson will play the Duchess; her theatre credits include King Charles III at the Almeida Theatre - for which she was nominated for the best actress Olivier Award - Fool for Love at Found111 and Blasted at the Lyric Hammersmith.

The creative team of the play includes designer Chloe Lamford, costume designer Nicky Gillibrand, lighting designer Jack Knowles and sound designer George Dennis.

The Duchess of Malfi will run at the Almeida Theatre from 2nd December to 18th January.
