Magic Flute transfers to Duke of York's 11 Feb 2008

The South African version of Mozart's The Magic Flute, will transfer from the Young Vic to the Duke of York's Theatre on 11 Feb 2008

Mozart through a South African lens. Performed by an exuberant company of 30. Mozart's opera re-imagined with marimbas and township percussion. Transposed into a township setting and encompass the various languages of the nation.

Directed and adapted by Mark Dornford-May, the show opened in repertoire at the Young Vic 29 Nov 2007, following previews from 23 Nov - and ends its sold out run 19 Jan 2008 - before transferring to the West End's Duke of York's Theatre 11 Feb 2008 - booking to 19 Apr 2008.

It is designed by Mannie Manim, choreography by Lungelo Ngamlana, and costumes by Annamarie Seegers.
