Mazz Murray to join Martin Kemp in Chicago in the West End

Mazz Murray will join Martin Kemp and the cast of Chicago at the Phoenix Theatre from 2nd July.

Murray will play Mama Morton in the musical, taking over from Ruthie Henshall who played the prison matron when the show opened. Her previous credits include We Will Rock You, when she took over from Sharon D Clarke as Killer Queen and played the role for nine years, and the West End production of Mama Mia.

Kemp replaces Cuba Gooding Jnr, who made his London theatre debut as smooth lawyer Billy Flynn upon the production's opening.

They will join the remaining cast members of Chicago from 2nd July: Sarah Soetaert, Josefina Gabrielle and Paul Rider as Roxie Hart, Velma Kelly and Amos Hart.

It has also been announced that the West End production has also extended its booking period, and will now run at the Phoenix Theatre until 5th January 2019. Tickets are available now.
