Metal Rabbit present Lardo at the Old Red Lion

Metal Rabbit productions will present Lardo, a comedy by Mike Stone at the Old Red Lion Theatre in Islington from 3 to 28 March 2015, with an official opening on 5 March 2015.

"Obese, girlfriendless and struggling to make his way, Lardo is determined to join Tartan Wrestling Madness - the glamorous bad boys of the Scottish wrestling scene. When his dream finally comes true Lardo surprisingly becomes an overnight sensation, but the massive highs and crippling lows of being a professional wrestler soon threaten to overwhelm this unlikely hero."

Inspired by the resurgence of wrestling in the UK and its fanatical fan base, this new play examines how wrestling provides escapism from an increasingly sanitised world.

Dan Buckley will star in the title role of 'Lardo', with direction by Finn Caldwell and design by Max Dorey.
