Michael Feast replaces sick Simon Ward in Pygmalion

Michael Feast replaces sick Simon Ward in Pygmalion at the Garrick Theatre. Simon has had to leave the production because of a viral infection.

Since Simon fell ill during previews his understudy Brendan Hooper has played the role of Alfred Doolittle and will continue to do so until Monday 23rd when Michael Feast steps in.

Pygmalion started previews at the Garrick Theatre on 12 May, and has its opening/press night on 25 May, and is currently taking bookings to 3 Sep 2011.

Michael Feast's stage credits include John Gielgud in PLAGUE OVER ENGLAND (Duchess), Anthony Kersley QC in THE ACCUSED (Haymarket), Macduff in MACBETH (West End, Broadway and The Chichester Festival Theatre); Genady in THE FOREST, Ariel in THE TEMPEST, Foster in NO MAN'S LAND, Bobby in AMERICAN BUFFALO, Mayhew in DISPATCHES and Raymond in WATCH IT COME DOWN (Royal National Theatre); Faust in FAUST 1 & 2, The Duke in MEASURE FOR MEASURE and Becket in MURDER IN THE CATHEDRAL (The Royal Shakespeare Co) and Theseus in PHAEDRA (Donmar Warehouse).

The production also features Rupert Everett (Henry Higgins) , Kara Tointon (Eliza Doolittle), Diana Rigg (Mrs Higgins), Peter Eyre (Colonel Pickering), Marty Cruickshank, Peter Eyre, Helen Millar, Peter Sandys-Clarke, Roberta Taylor.

It is directed and designed by Philip Prowse.

Egocentric Professor of Phonetics, Henry Higgins, makes a bet with his friend, Colonel Pickering, that he can transform the manners and speech of Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle and pass her off as a society lady.
