A musical featuring some of Dr Seuss' beloved characters - including the Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant and The Grinch, is set to open in London this November.

Co-conceived by Eric Idle of Monty Python, Seussical the Musical incorporates a whole roster of Seuss' characters, weaving their stories together set to a score with music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens (and a book by both).

Seussical the Musical will run at Southwark Playhouse in The Large, with an official opening night on 27th November.

The musical premiered on Broadway in 2000, and first came to London in 2012 when it ran at the Arts Theatre, returning in 2013. Since its first production, it has featured songs such as "A Day for the Cat in the Hat", "Horton Sits on the Egg", "The Grinch Carved the Roast Beast" and "Here on Who".

This new production, from family theatre specialists Immersion Theatre, will be directed by James Tobias, with choreography by Chris Whittaker, set by Justin Williams and Jonny Rust, and sound by Nico Menghini.

Seussical the Musical is at Southwark Playhouse from 22nd November to 29th December.
