An Asian kid from Kent goes to college in London and teams up with a sympathetic group of anti-racists. But it’s 1989, the year of the fatwa, and as Shahid begins a hedonistic affair with his lecturer, his radical Muslim friends want to steer him away from the decadence of the West.

Returning Production...

EVERY GOOD BOY DESERVES FAVOUR
by Tom Stoppard and Andre Previn
in the Olivier Theatre
(Previews from 9 Jan 2010, Opens 13 Jan 2010, Closes 17 Feb 2010)
Directed by Felix Barrett and Tom Morris, designed by Bob Crowley, lighting by Bruno Poet, choreography by Maxine Doyle
A play for actors and orchestra: A dissident is locked up in an asylum. If he accepts that he was ill, has been treated and is now cured, he will be released. He refuses. Sharing his cell is a real lunatic who believes himself to be surrounded by an orchestra. As the dissident's son begs his father to free himself with a lie, this provocative play asks if denying the truth is a price worth paying for liberty.
(This production had a 6 week run at the Olivier earlier this year!)
