Feelgood Theatre Productions presents Stephen MacDonald's war-time drama Not About Heroes, directed by Caroline Clegg, with a preview performance on 10 Nov 2014, an official opening on 11 Nov and a limited engagement through to 06 Dec 2014 at Trafalgar Studios 2.
Synopsis: 'An exploration of courage, of humanity and a timeless celebration of friendship set against the brutality of war. 1917 - After protesting against the continuance of the war, poet and military cross winner Siegfried Sassoon is sent to Craiglockhart War Hospital to silence him. There he meets shell shocked Lt Wilfred Owen and they begin a friendship that transforms them both and creates some of the twentieth century’s greatest war poetry, including Anthem for Doomed Youth. Both return to the front. Sassoon is shot in the head but survives, Owen is machine gunned to death a week before the Armistice.'
This production of Not About Heroes also features composition by Ailis Ni Riain. It is suitable for ages 11+.
