"Notes From New York" at Trafalgar Studios 19 Sep 2004


Notes From New York, the West End's only platform for contemporary US musical theatre, will be at the Trafalgar Studios on Sunday 19 Sep 2004.

The show features a number of UK and European premières, including songs from Adam Guettel's new musical "The Light in the Piazza", none of which have previously been performed outside of the US, selections from Michael John LaChiusa's rarely performed repertoire and an introduction to the work of John Bucchino, whose songs have been recorded by Barbara Cook, Michael Feinstein, Patti LuPone, Audra MacDonald and Liza Minelli to name only a few.

Produced by Neil Eckersley, Notes From New York is directed by David Randall & Paul Spicer , with choreography by Paul Spicer.

Rebecca Thornhill is currently starring as 'Roxie Hart' in "Chicago" at the Adelphi Theatre. Her London stage credits include: "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" at the Dominion Theatre in 1997; "Oklahoma!" at the National in 1998 & the Lyceum in 1999; "Singin'in the Rain" at the National in 2000;"Les Miserables" at the Palace Theatre in 2000; "Witches of Eastwick" at the Prince of Wales in 2001; "The Full Monty" at the Prince of Wales in 2002; & "Ragtime" at the Piccadilly Theatre in 2003.

Oliver Tompsett's West End credits include "Our House" at the Cambridge Theatre in 2002/03; and "Mamma Mia!" at the Prince Edward Theatre in 2003.

Stephen Weller credits include Cameron Mackintosh's "Martin Guerre"

Newcomer Ashleigh Gray, recently made her professional debut as Kim in the UK tour of "Taboo".

Previous Notes From New York shows have taken place at the Arts Theatre (2 Nov 2003 & 4 July 2004); and The Donmar Warehouse (7 Mar 2004)
