Open Air Theatre announces 8 additional performances of Cole Porter's "High Society" between 8 & 13 Sep 03

The Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park has announced 8 additional performances of Cole Porter's musical High Society, between 8 and 13 Sep 03. This means for the first time in the history of the Open Air Theatre, the season has been extended by an extra week.

High Society opens in repertoire on 24 July, following previews from 22 July 03, and is now booking to 13 Sep 03 (Originally only booking to 2 Sep 03).

The show is directed by Ian Talbot, choreographed by Gillian Gregory, with designs & costumes Paul Farnsworth.

Cast includes: Tracie Bennett (Liz), Brigit Forsyth (Mother Lord), Annette McLaughlin (Tracy), Dale Rapley (Dexter), Hal Fowler (Mike).

High Society is a musical adaptation of Philip Barry's 1939 play "The Philadelphia Story", which was made into a film in the 1950s starring Grace Kelly, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. This is the first professional London staging for over 15 years. HIGH SOCIETY is the story of a recently divorced woman, with an impending marriage to an upper-crust man. A reporter, who is meant to be covering the wedding, gets her drunk, takes her swimming and reveals a few gaps in her high-class demeanour.This musical version features songs such as 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire', ''True Love' You're Sensational' and 'Swell Party'.
