Playwright Pam Gems has died aged 85

Playwright, Pam Gems has died at the age of 85. A statement says she had died “peacefully in her sleep” on Friday evening 13th May 2011

Her London stage writing credits include Piaf at the Donmar Warehouse & Vaudeville in 2008; The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen, adapted by Pam Gems at the Greenwich Theatre in 2004; Lady From the Sea by Ibsen, in a new version by Pam Gems, at the Almeida in 2003; Marlene at the Lyric in 1997; Stanley at the Cottesloe, NT in 1996; The Seagull by Anton Chekhov, in a new version by Pam Gems, at the Olivier, NT in 1994
