Queen's Birthday Honour's list include several from the London stage, including: Helen Mirren (a Dame); Simon Russell Beale (CBE); Kristin Scott Thomas (OBE); Richard Briers (CBE).
Helen Mirren (a Dame), London stage credits include "Antony and Cleopatra" at the National in 1998; "Collected Stories" at the Haymarket in 1999; and "Orpheus Descending" at the Donmar Warehouse in 2000.
Simon Russell Beale (CBE), London stage credits include "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead" & "Volpone" in 1995; "Candide", "Money", "Summerfolk" & "Battle Royal" in 1999; "Hamlet" in 2000; and "Humble Boy" in 2001 all at the National Theatre. Also,"Uncle Vanya" & "Twelfth Night"at the Donmar Warehouse in 2002, in which he won an Olivier Award for Best Actor. He is currently starring at the National Theatre in Tom Stoppard's "Jumbers".
Kristin Scott Thomas (OBE) has recently been on the London Stage in "Three Sisters" at the Playhouse Theatre.
Richard Briers (CBE) London stage credits include "Home" at the Wyndam's in 1995; "The Chairs" at the Royal Court in 1997 & "Bedroom Farce" at the Aldwych in 2002. Of course he is best remembered as 'Tom' in the 70s TV sitcom "The Good Life".
