Cock, which opens at the Theatre Upstairs 18 Nov 2009, following previews from 13 Nov - running to 19 Dec 2009, is directed by James Macdonald. When John takes a break from his boyfriend, he accidentally meets the girl of his dreams. Filled with guilt and indecision, he decides there is only one way to straighten this out... Takes a playful, candid look at one man's sexuality and the difficulties that arise when you realise you have a choice.
Joining previously mentioned Jessica Hynes (née Stevenson) and Rachael Stirling in The Priory, a new play by Michael Wynne, is Alastair Mackenzie best known for playing the lead role of Archie in five series of the BBC drama Monarch of the Glen; and Charlotte Riley who recently appeared as Catherine Earnshaw in ITV's adaptation of Wuthering Heights as well as playing the lead in Sky One's drama serial The Take.
The Priory opens in the theatre downstairs 26 Nov 2009, following previews from 19 Nov - running to 9 Jan 2010. It is directed by Jeremy Herrin. Kate is delighted when she finds a country retreat that ticks all the boxes. Gathering together a select group of her closest friends to celebrate New Year's Eve, she is keen to start 2010 afresh. But successful, stressed-out thirtysomethings in search of a good time in the sticks can make for one very fearsome party... and some surprising resolutions.
