Sheridan Smith will tour the UK in Funny Girl
Producers of the UK tour of Funny Girl have announced that double Olivier award-winner Sheridan Smith will reprise her role of Fanny Brice in a number of venues around the country as the production takes to the road in 2017.
Smith is currently starring as Fanny Brice in the first West End revival of the 1964 musical by Jule Styne, Bob Merrill and Isobel Lennart which is running at the Savoy Theatre following a sold-out run at the Menier Chocolate Factory. The production features revisions by Harvey Fierstein and is directed by Michael Mayer with choreography by Lynne Page.
She will reprise her role at the following UK venues. Casting for the other venues is yet to be announced.

Funny Girl charts the rise of Fanny Brice’s career as one of Broadway’s biggest stars by way of the Ziegfeld Follies, as well as her doomed romance with Nicky Arnstein. The score of hits features songs such as "People", "You Are Woman", "I'm The Greatest Star", "The Music That Makes Me Dance" and "Don't Rain on My Parade".
The production concludes its run at the Savoy Theatre on 8 October 2016.
