Producers of the UK tour of Funny Girl have announced that double Olivier award-winner Sheridan Smith will reprise her role of Fanny Brice in a number of venues around the country as the production takes to the road in 2017.

The production features revisions by Harvey Fierstein and is directed by Michael Mayer with choreography by Lynne Page.

She will reprise her role at the following UK venues. Casting for the other venues is yet to be announced.

Manchester Palace Theatre (18 February 2017 - 25 February 2017), Milton Keynes Theatre (27 February 2017 - 04 March 2017), Liverpool Empire (07 March 2017 - 11 March 2017), Bristol Hippodrome (21 March 2017 - 25 March 2017), Edinburgh Playhouse (18 April 2017 - 22 April 2017), Birmingham Hippodrome (09 May 2017 - 13 May 2017), Newcastle Theatre Royal (16 May 2017 - 20 May 2017), Mayflower Theatre Southampton (22 May 2017 - 27 May 2017).

Funny Girl charts the rise of Fanny Brice’s career as one of Broadway’s biggest stars by way of the Ziegfeld Follies, as well as her doomed romance with Nicky Arnstein. The score of hits features songs such as "People", "You Are Woman", "I'm The Greatest Star", "The Music That Makes Me Dance" and "Don't Rain on My Parade".

The production concludes its run at the Savoy Theatre on 8 October 2016.
