SHOCKHEADED PETER RETURNS TO WEST END 4TH APRIL 02

Shockheaded Peter , is returning to the West End. This junk opera based on Heinrich Hoffman's Struwwelpeter will be at the Albery Theatre from 4th April 02.

Shockheaded Peter is the collective nightmare of the visionary direction and design team of Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch and the underworld's favorite cabaret act, 'The Tiger Lillies'.

The show was last in the West End in April last year at the Piccadilly Theatre. The original cast of Julian Bleach, Anthony Cairns, Ewan Hunter, Tamzin Griffin, Rebekah Wild and The Tiger Lillies are expected to feature in the show along with David Thomas and Two Pale Boys.

Set in a distorted Victorian toy theatre, the show evokes a lost world of theatrical illusion-a music box spinning out of control; an advent calendar with a different lunatic waiting behind every door.

"So sweet, so sinister, and so completely outrageous, the show is a hilarious black comedy for sophisticated children, their dreadful parents, and anyone who has ever sucked their thumb."

The show , which has music & lyrics by Martyn Jacques and created by Julian Bleach, Anthony Cairns, Graeme Gilmour, Tamzin Griffin and Jo Pocock, is currently taking bookings to 15th June 02.
