Side by Side by Sondheim to close 23 June 2007

Side by Side by Sondheim, which was booking to 14 July at The Venue, will now close 3 weeks early on 23 June 2007.

The show, which opened at The Venue, in Leicester Square, on 1 May 2007, following previews from 26 April features Alasdair Harvey, Josie Walker, Abbie Osmon, two pianists and a narrator (Christopher Cazenove 11 - 12 June / Les Dennis 6 - 9 & 13 June / Angela Rippon 14 - 23 June)

First seen on Broadway in 1977, this musical revue celebrates the work of Stephen Sondheim from classic musicals such as West Side Story, Gypsy, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Company, Follies, Pacific Overtures and A Little Night Music.

It is directed by Hannah Chissick, with musical staging by Adam Cooper. It is designed by Bob Bailey , lighting by Robert Jones and musical direction by Michael Haslam.

Side by Side by Sondheim was conceived by singer Cleo Laine and her husband John Dankworth. It has original narration written by Ned Sherrin with additional music by Leonard Bernstein, Mary Rodgers, Richard Rodgers and Jule Styne.
