Ovation Productions have announced that they will produce Singin' in the Rain at Upstairs at the Gatehouse, a fringe theatre in north London, from 17 December 2014 to 25 January 2015, with an official opening on 19 December 2014.

The musical, which was recently seen in the West End, is based on the MGM film of the same name and features screenplay by Betty Comden & Adolph Green, along with a score by Nacio Herb Brown & Arthur Freed. It follows silent movie stars Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont as their careers are forced to face the rise of 'talkies'. The show features memorable hits such as 'Good Morning', 'Make 'em Laugh', 'Moses Supposes' and the classic 'Singin' in the Rain'.

The production will be directed by John Plews, with design by Sarah June Mills, lighting design by Aaron Dootson, sound design by Jon Raper and choreography by Chris Whittaker. Musical direction will be by Matt Ramplin.

Cast information is yet to be announced.
