Singin' in the Rain posts closing notices for 8 June 2013

Singin' In The Rain, has posted closing notices for 8 June 2013, at the Palace Theatre, when it would have completed a run of 16 months in the West End. (It was booking to 31 Aug 2013) The show will go on an extensive UK tour, starting in Manchester in November.

Directed by Jonathan Church, the show opened at the West End's Palace Theatre on 15 Feb 2012, following previews from 4 Feb 2012. It has songs by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed. The original screenplay and adaptations are by Betty Comden and Adolph Green.

It is choreographed by Andrew Wright, lighting by Tim Mitchell, sound by Matt McKenzie, designed by Simon Higlett and produced by Stage Entertainment/Chichester Festival Theatre.

The cast currently includes Adam Cooper (Don Lockwood), Louise Bowden (Kathy Selden), Stephane Annelli (Cosmo Brown), Jennifer Ellison (Lina Lamont).

Don Lockwood is a silent movies star with everything he could want - fame, adulation and even a well-publicised 'romance' with his co-star Lina Lamont. But Hollywood is about to change forever. There is rumour in the studio of a new kind of film, where the actors actually talk... and sing... and dance.
