Sizwe Banzi is Dead in Deptford as part of tour

Young Vic Theatre presents Anti-Apartheid play Sizwe Banzi is Dead, by Athol Fugard, John Kani and Winston Ntshona, at the Albany, a fringe venue in Deptford, south east London, 27 to 31 May 2014, as part of a national tour.

Directed by Matthew Xia, with design by Hyemi Shin, lighting by Ciaran Cunningham and sound by Richard Hammarton. Cast includes Sibusiso Mamba (Sizwe Banzi) and Tonderai Munyevu (Styles/Buntu).

Sizwe Banzi is Dead exposes the struggle for freedom and identity in apartheid-era South Africa, unravelling the brutal absurdities of everyday life under oppression.

The play, which celebrates the 40th anniversary of its UK premiere, is due to open at the Young Vic Maria stage on 13 Feb 2014, following previews from 6 Feb and will continue there until 8 Mar 2014.
