The Big Fellah by Richard Bean at Lyric Hammersmith 21 Sep

Out of Joint presents The Big Fellah, a new play by Richard Bean, about Irish Americans and their relationship to the Troubles in Northern Ireland, at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, in West London from 21 Sep to 16 Oct 2010, as part of a national tour.

Directed by Max Stafford-Clark, the cast includes David Ricardo-Pearce, Finbar Lynch, Rory Keenan, Youssef Kerkour, Claire Rafferty, Fred Ridgeway, Stephanie Street.

It is designed by Tim Shortall, lighting by Jason Taylor, sound by Nick Manning.

Young fireman Michael Doyle decides to live up to his Irish heritage by joining the IRA. He's recruited by Costello, the charismatic 'Big Fellah', who wants to use Doyle's brownstone apartment in The Bronx as a safe house for an escaped killer. But it soon becomes clear that someone is leaking information to the FBI...
