The Bodyguard to extend its booking period to 28 Sep 2013

The new stage musical of The Bodyguard, is to extend its booking period 5 month to 28 Sep 2013. (Tickets for the new booking period goes on sale 21 Jan 2013) Also, from 29 April, the show will drop Wednesday matinees and replace it with 5pm performances on Friday, with Friday evening performances now taking place at 8.30pm.

Based on the Warner Bros. film of the same name with screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan, and featuring Whitney Houston's greatest hits, The Bodyguard opened at the Adelphi Theatre 5 Dec 2012, following previews from 6 Nov.

The cast includes Heather Headley (Rachel Marron to 10 August 2013 - She does not appear on Wed matinee or Fri 5pm perfs) and Lloyd Owen (Frank Farmer - to 7 September 2013).

Directed by Thea Sharrock, the musical has book by Alex Dinelaris, designed by Tim Hatley, lighting by Mark Henderson , choreography by Arthur Pita, sound by Richard Brooker. Produced by Michael Harrison and David Ian.

Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge; what they don't expect is to fall in love. A romantic thriller, The Bodyguard features a multitude of Whitney Houston's hits including Queen of the Night, So Emotional, One Moment in Time, Saving All My Love, I'm Your Baby Tonight, Run to You, I Have Nothing, How Will I Know, I Wanna Dance With Somebody and I Will Always Love You.
