The Count of Monte Cristo has been postponed at National

The National Theatre has postponed its Christmas show The Count of Monte Cristo, which was due to open in November in the Olivier Theatre.

The show, written by Alexandre Dumas, adapted by Richard Bean, was to be directed by Timothy Sheader.

The spokesperson says the show needed "more development time and hope to put it on in future years".

A replacement production has not been confirmed yet.
