The Man Inside - new musical at the Landor Theatre

The world premiere of new British musical The Man Inside, directed by Robert McWhir, will be performed at the Landor Theatre, a fringe venue in Clapham, south London, from 12 to 29 March 2014.

The Man Inside is a contemporary re-imagining of Robert Louis Stevenson's 1886 novella The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

The show has music by Tony Rees, book and lyrics by Tony Rees and Gary Young, with additional book material by Dave Willetts. The cast includes Dave Willetts. Produced by Theatrica Ltd in association with Cheltenham Everyman Theatre.

Free the good in man and let it fly... These are the words spoken by eminent doctor and scientist Dr Jekyll, whose life's work is devoted to helping those in turmoil. Through research and development he holds a mirror to those who pursue self interest and personal desires by means of crime or terror, then choose to blame society for their actions. But when his experiments start taking him to increasingly dark places, will he be able to hold on to the goodness he believes in, or will he be lost to a world of deception, self indulgence and secret passions?

Dave Willetts's London stage credits include Les Miserables at the Palace Theatre, The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre, Aspects of Love at the Menier Chocolate Factory, Sunset Boulevard at the Comedy Theatre, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers at the Theatre Royal Haymarket and Ragtime at the Piccadilly Theatre.
