Top Hat cast changes Charlotte Gooch & Gavin Lee

Cast changes in the musical Top Hat, from 5 Feb 2013 Gavin Lee takes over the role of Jerry Travers from Tom Chambers, and from 27 Nov 2012, Charlotte Gooch takes over the role of Dale Tremont from Summer Strallen.

The show, which has music and lyrics by Irving Berlin, adapted for the stage by Matthew White and Howard Jacques, opened at the Aldwych Theatre, 9 May 2012, following previews from 19 Apr 2012, and is currently taking bookings to 28 Sep 2013.

Directed by Matthew White, designed by Hildegard Bechtler, lighting by Peter Mumford, choreography by Bill Deamer, musical direction by Daniel Jackson, costumes by Jon Morrell, produced by Kenny Wax, Stewart Lane and Bonnie Comley, Ted Hartley, Flora Suk-Hwa Yoon and Lee Menzies.

Jerry Travers, the famous American tap dancer, arrives in London to appear in his first West End show. Travers meets the irresistible Dale Tremont, the girl of his dreams, and follows her across Europe in an attempt to win her heart.

Gavin Lee returns to the West End where he previously originated the role of Bert in the London production of Mary Poppins. He went on to play the role on Broadway., His other London credits include Crazy For You, Peggy Sue Got Married, Me and My Girl, Over My Shoulder, Oklahoma and Contact.

Charlotte Gooch has recently completed a run playing the leading role of Penny Johnson in the UK National Tour of Dirty Dancing. Her other theatre credits include Patty in the UK tour of Grease and Bombalurina in the European tour of Cats.
