The 24-strong company will be led by original cast members Jasper Britton playing Petruchio in both plays and Alexandra Gilbreath playing his wives Kate & Maria.

Both plays are directed by Gregory Duran and designed by Stephen Brimson Lewis.

There will be six performances of The Taming of The Shrew per week, with a press night on 15 Jan 04, following a preview on 14 Jan 04.

There will be two performances of The Tamer Tamed per week, with a press night on 22 Jan 04

The Taming of The Shrew is one of William Shakespeare's controversial comedies, which plays out the war of the sexes with Petruchio's laddish wooing meeting its match in Kate's spirited opposition; resulting in an hilarious battle of wills.

John Fletcher's The Tamer Tamed is a reversal of roles seeing Petruchio tamed by his second wife in Fletcher's 'sequel' to The Taming of the Shrew.
