When Movies Were Movies - Ye Olde Rose and Crown

Time Of Our Lives Music Theatre In association with All Star Productions presents When Movies Were Movies, a retro musical comedy revue, written and compiled by Keith Myers, at the Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre, a fringe venue in Walthamstow, east London, from 17 Apr to 4 May 2012.

Starring Dympna Messenger, Raymond Kym Suttle, Robert Wilkes, Nerene Skinner, Jessica Poole. Designed by Jess Maliphant, lighting by Sky Bembury, choreography by Raymond Kym Suttle, musical director is Aaron Clingham.

A celebration of the Golden Age of cinema from the Slapstick Silent Era to the Swinging sixties. Set in 1969 in The Odeon which is under threat of becoming a Bingo Hall the show is a mix of Hollywood inspired comedy sketches, music, songs, dance and reminiscence. Remembering Saturday Morning Pictures, Fred and Ging, Kissing in the back row, Noel and Gertie, Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney, The Swashbucklers, wartime cinema singalongs. Jiving in the Aisles, 'bunking in', Cowboys and Indians, Rodgers and Hammerstein.
