Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? to be broadcast live to cinemas across the UK

The hit revival will be broadcast across the UK.

It has been announced that the current critically acclaimed revival of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? which is running at the Harold Pinter Theatre will be broadcast live to cinemas across the UK and beyond as part of National Theatre Live.

The production, which stars Imelda Staunton, Conleth Hill, Imogen Poots and Luke Treadaway, will be broadcast live from the Harold Pinter Theatre on 18th May at 7.30pm. The production continues in the West End to 27 May 2017.

James Macdonald's production officially opened on 9 March following previews from 22 February 2017. It received a string of 5-star reviews, including a rave from London Theatre: "This is an amazing production of a contemporary masterpiece, with some of the finest acting we're likely to see on the London stage this year."

"In the early hours of the morning on the campus of an American college, Martha, much to her husband George's displeasure, has invited the new professor Nick and his wife Honey to their home for some after-party drinks. As the alcohol flows and dawn approaches, the young couple are drawn into George and Martha's toxic games until the evening reaches its climax in a moment of devastating truth-telling."
