The West End production of Wicked has announced its 21st booking extension at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, with 500,000 new tickets going on sale from 10am on Monday 1 February 2016. The musical is now booking until 29 April 2017.
The show is currently in its tenth anniversary year and became the 9th longest-running show in the West End on 5 September 2015. The musical is now the 19th longest-running show in West End theatre history.
The cast of Wicked currently includes Emma Hatton (Elphaba), Savannah Stevenson (Glinda), Oliver Savile (Fiyero), Liza Sadovy (Madame Morrible), Tom McGowan (The Wizard), Sean Kearns (Doctor Dillamond), Daniel Hope (Boq), and Katie Rowley Jones (Nessarose).
The show opened at the Apollo Victoria Theatre on 27 September 2006, following previews from 07 September, and has since been seen by almost 6 million people. Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman.
The musical is directed by Joe Mantello, scenic design by Eugene Lee, costumes by Susan Hilferty, lighting by Kenneth Posner, sound by Tony Meola, orchestrations by William David Brohn, musical staging by Wayne Cilento.
