Emma Hatton interview - 'Evita still feels fresh and current, it has stood the test of time'
We sat down with Emma Hatton, star of Evita at the Phoenix Theatre, to talk about taking on the role of Eva Peron.
Hatton played Elphaba in the West End for a year and a half following roles in Dreamboats and Petticoats and We Will Rock You. She began touring Europe with Evita in January this year, before the production came into London for a 12-week residency this summer.
In his five-star review, Mark Shenton described the production as a "must-see", adding Hatton "makes it entirely her own with the ferocity of a personality whose grasping ambition takes no prisoners in her relentless climb to the top".
Evita runs at the Phoenix Theatre until 14th October.
